How To Be More Organized + My Favorite Life Planner

I have to confess, I’m not the one to write this post. I probably have the least A-Type personality, but in 2018 I’m trying to become more of an organized girlboss, while still retaining my creativity and free spirit.

So, in honor of my 2018 intention, I decided to write this post on how I’m choosing to organize my life in the new year. Here are my strategies: 


Make Regular To-Do Lists

I have to say, I love getting things out of my brain and on to paper. It clears my mind, boosts my creativity and lowers my stress. Becoming more organized starts with organizing your life day-to-day, starting with the little things.

One app I absolutely love for this is MinimaList, which allows you to create multiple to-do lists and organize every single thing you need to remember. The multiple lists is a premium feature, but premium only costs a few dollars for unlimited access, with other payment plans of 43 cents per year (seriously, it’s ridiculously cheap). Regardless for what you use, creating lists will save your life, so it’s the first step in organizing your life.


Create a List of Your Values

It’s no secret that your values should be an integral part of your life. They are what motivate you, they are things that light you up inside, and they are the guiding principles of your life. In order to live a life you truly love, you have to live by these values, or else you are likely to be unhappy.  

I recently made a list of my values after watching this video by Chani Carroso, and it was honestly a beautiful process. I found out about what I love most, and I realized that I’m already doing a lot of the things that I want to be doing because I’m choosing to make my values front and center. If you want to organize your life, you have to include the things that light you up inside, so making a values list will really help you stay balanced and be able to say yes to the things that are right for you and no to the things that aren’t.


Clear the Clutter

Everyone knows that cleaning is one of the best ways to destress, but what about mental clutter? We tend to skip past that, but mental clutter is actually more important than physical clutter, as your thoughts form your actions and your actions form your life.

I made a commitment to myself a few weeks ago to become more positive, and as I’m deepening my faith and leaning on the Universe more and more, I am beginning to experience more peace, more light. However you choose to clear your clutter, whether through meditation or affirmations, constantly choose to be grateful and see the positive in your life. The truth is, there’s a lot to celebrate, and the more that you focus on the positive the more that you will begin to see an experience it. Your thoughts create your life essentially, so you want to make sure that what you are choosing for yourself is good and will help you grow. 


Get a Planner

It’s no secret that organization in life often comes alongside planning, meaning that you may want to get an actual planner. You could use Google Calender, yes, or a bullet journal. But what if you could use a planner where you can get aligned with your dreams and plan your life so that you can bring your intentions to fruition?
