4 Ways to Surround Yourself with Positive Vibes
It's so important to have positive voices in your life. For me, I've always made sure that I rid myself of any negative voices in my life, whether that be through the media or personally or inside my own head.
I want to make sure that I am constantly reminded of the beauty in the world as well as within myself, and constantly be encouraged to grow more as a human being. If you are struggling with this or if you just want tips to bring more positive vibes into your life, then this post is for you!
One of the most positive places that I've found on the internet is Instagram. It can be a negative place to be, dependent on who you follow, but I've spoken to so many wonderful people and have been given the chance to witness so many amazing companies and blogs grow there as well.
Recently, I was talking with a woman about how many positive, uplifting people that we've met and seen on Instagram and I was reminded of the fact that the internet is what you make it. One of my personal 'rules' for Instagram are that I only follow people that I know will bring a positive message into my feed.
I think that it's important to protect your feed. Following everyone else who follows you or likes a photo means that your feed may be clogged up with negative voices, and that's just not good for you. I follow so many people on Instagram, but I only follow them if I know that their message and their feed is positive and aligns with what I believe (ex. equality, love, respect, etc.).
Music is one of those things that has the power to help you sort through feelings and also impacts your life. I mean, there's always that one song that connects you back to a certain season of your life, and it pulls you back there every time.
I think having a variety of artists at your fingertips is a blessing of this generation, and one we should utilize for our happiness. There's always those times when you need to just feel something, just feel sad or mad, and I think that's important. I also think that it's important to make sure that what you're listening to on a regular basis helps you feel fulfilled and happy.
Quotes can be really powerful when we are in a place where they are incredibly significant. Reading Cheryl Strayed's book Brave Enough, I am constantly being inspired by her life experience as well as her timely words. One of the recent quotes I've been inspired by of hers says,
Just the other day on Instagram, I saw this amazing caption by @mindbodysoulandstyle and it just hit me at the right moment. She said,
One of the most positive voices in my life is my higher power. I'm a Christian, but I'm a little bit new age-y with my faith, and I'm starting to develop a much more open perspective and distance myself from the religious aspect of my faith and get into the actual spiritual part.
Meditating is a big part of my faith, and for me, God has always been an incredible voice in my life, always encouraging me towards self growth and loving and respecting myself. Maybe this sounds weird to you or this whole 'God' thing freaks you out, and that's totally okay.
I think that there are so many ways to be spiritual and there are so many ways to experience God. I think God is much bigger than the boxes we put around spirituality and religion.
I believe strongly in the universal power of love and I think that's what has made my eyes more open to the beauty in every person as well as the world itself, which has helped me to keep myself in a positive mindset.
I hope that you already have many positive voices in your life, but if you don't, then I hope these tips help you to live a happier, more positive life!
