The Vibration of Appreciation & How It Can Serve Us in Our Daily Lives

Appreciation is the attitude that attracts miracles.

I'm sure you've heard about the fabulous benefits that the attitude of gratitude can have in our personal lives and how it contributes to our overall happiness.

But have you ever stopped to think about why exactly that is, or how to harness that energy in your daily life for greater joy?

Recently, I've been going through a slump as I've had a flare up of illness and I've noticed my vibration has been off.

Appreciation is one of the ways that I'm getting back on the bandwagon, noticing my abundance (which I'll be talking more about next week) and learning to have joy in life even when the circumstances are different than expected.

It's been a wild ride, and I'm certainly not going to say it has been perfect, it is definitely a learning experience.

So, today I thought I would talk about how appreciation has been serving me through its vibration, and what that can mean for you if you want to live a more joyful life.


The Vibration of Appreciation

Appreciation, gratitude, thankfulness, they all mean the same thing.

But each can have a different connotation, and for me personally, I believe appreciation has the highest vibration.

Gratitude has been used a lot in the media in the past few years, often times regarded as a pick me up or a simple exercise. 

I feel that it's an older, more dumbed down version of appreciation, because sometimes it can include things that we don't actually feel appreciation for, we just say them because we think we should.

For me, appreciation means thinking of the things I actually feel thankful for, not the things I think I should be thankful for, and letting that emotion of appreciation raise my vibration.

The vibration of appreciation can be both unconditional and conditional, meaning that either way, whatever conditions, you can find appreciation for something in this life.

It's much easier, however, to start with it being conditional.

You can start by thinking about how much you appreciate the sunny day you're having, the breakfast you had today or your boss and her upbeat attitude.

These are conditional because they're things that are subject to change, therefore you may not always be able to feel appreciation for them, however they're easier to look for than unconditional things, like your life path or your spiritual connection.

The vibration of appreciation, whether conditional or unconditional, is high and reminds us of our blessings, shifting our focus to the solutions in our lives rather than the problems.

That's the thing with appreciation of any sort, the reason it is so beneficial is because it is positive, focused on the blessings and therefore leads to deeper clarity.

It's like when you are so overwhelmed with a problem that you can't see a solution, you need to get out of that mindset to actually find the solution because if you are so stuck in the vibration of the problem you aren't actually in the place to receive a solution.

This is a great metaphor for how appreciation can help you, because it shifts your focus to what is working in your life, and when you come back to the area that isn't working with that high-on-life attitude and clarity, solutions come much more easily to you.

You'll always find what you're looking for, so if you are looking through the lens of a problem, you'll likely only find more, whereas when you look through the lens of appreciation you'll be more clear on the solutions that are available to you.


Why does appreciation make us happier?

Why is it that appreciation seems to add more joy to our lives?

Well, as I said before, it shifts our mindset.

Starting your day with a thank you instead of picking up on yesterday's problems kickstarts our days to be more joyful, because that is the vibration we've set in motion.

When you take the time to look at all of the blessings in your life, while truly feeling your appreciation, you are more attuned to the pleasures of life and will naturally look for that as you go about your day.

It's as if you have chosen a pair of glasses for the day, the lens being tuned to a certain frequency, and looking through that lens you will see what you've chosen to tune your focus to see.

This is also because of the subconscious mind, which is able to be influenced most right when you wake up and right before you go to sleep.

By choosing to see the good in life in the morning, your subconscious mind will naturally have a set point of positivity, and by doing this each day, you can train your mind to look for the good even without your effort.

You choose what you see throughout your day and how you respond to the situations that are presented to you.

In other words, your lens matters.

It can influence your life in amazing ways, and it ultimately sets the course for your days.

Now, you may be thinking that it isn't productive to always be in this unicorn state of being (as Jess Lively calls it), but it actually is!

Thinking back to the vibration of appreciation, remember how when you're at the vibration of a problem you're less likely to find a solution?

Well, if you take a look at the world and a few of its problems, you might see just how imperative it is that you claim your birthright of joy.

A little truth bomb for you:

You can't serve the world from an empty cup.

You can't help the sick by being sick. You can't help your company by burning out. You can't help others suffering by becoming one who suffers.

You can only help people when you rise, when you come from a place of wholehearted joy and compassion, you are at your best when you are living your life from your highest self and inspiring others to do the same.

If you think about it, that is why we like to go to others for advice.

They have something we don't, which is an outside perspective. They can come from a place outside of the vibration of the problem to find a solution. 

Looking at it from that angle, it's easy to see why appreciation gives us so much joy.

It reminds us of our true nature, of our blessings, and shifts us to that vibration of joy and happiness in what is working instead of what isn't working.

It leads us to take action from a place of inspiration and clarity rather than confusion and desperation.

It's a driving force for joy, adding to our lives and reminding us of all the love that surrounds us.


A Challenge For You

In honor of appreciation and claiming your birthright to joy, I thought I'd propose a little challenge for you to uplevel your life and start living in this vibration of appreciation.

  1. Tomorrow, right when you wake up, I want you to say thank you. This can be out loud or in your head.
  2. Then make a long list of the things you apreciate, at least ten things.
  3. Throughout your day, when you are tempted to be negative, find three things that you appreciate in that moment.
  4. Post to Instagram, if you feel so inspired, about what is bringing you joy in your life, and tag the post with the hashtag #lsfappreciationchallenge. As you practice seeking out the good, you will begin to see it everywhere.

This is no coincidence, as you are beginning to notice everything in your life that is working out for you, thereby attracting more of it into your life.

The more you practice this, the more you step into your highest self and the more you will see your life through the lens of clarity and joy, and the more lovely your life will look as a result.
